At the beginning of the summer, and during the school year last year, I only ever took pictures when I was told to. I took pictures because I was the photo editor for my college last year and when summer came, so did graduation and at every graduation and family gathering I went to, my family made me take pictures. Dont you hate that? When people tell you to do something or how to do something you enjoy and then you start to like it less? Anyway, I started to lose interest. And it was heartbreaking.
My plan is not to be a professional artist free lance at most so photography has been a hobby for me. Since middle school I have taken it seriously and I always love learning new things about photography, especially perspective. And when I became uninterested, it was like losing a friend. But recently, since I have moved back to school, I have found interest in photography again.
My favorite thing about photography and art has always been perspective. Finding something new that hasnt been popularized yet. And for a while, I forgot that thats what I look for when I take pictures. So everything got really bland and boring so I stopped.
But I started shooting again, and all is well. I went to a camera club meeting at my university and got into a critique which got me thinking more critically about perspective and all of the wonderful things about art that I had left behind. But I dont feel as though I am back where I left off with taking pictures. I am more creative than before, and I am always looking for new opportunities to find that one thing I love perspective.
